The parent business of Hololive Production, COVER Corporation, has terminated the contract of Yozora Mel, a well-known VTuber from Hololive’s first generation. The reason for the termination, which was made public on January 16, 2024, was Yozora Mel’s unlawful sharing of private company information with outside parties.
In a statement, Yozora Mel acknowledged her errors and apologized for the worry and anguish she had given her followers and the other parties concerned. She also expressed her regret over her conduct. She said that she will always treasure these moments as she thought back on her dream and the time she spent with her followers, known as Kapumin, and Hololive members.
In an official statement, COVER Corporation underlined the gravity of the breach and thanked supporters and partners for their help throughout Yozora Mel’s tenure with Hololive, which lasted over five years and eight months. They also mentioned their commitment to instructing their talents on compliance matters to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Yozora Mel’s YouTube channel and memberships are set to be closed by the end of February 2024. There won’t be any graduation stream due to the nature of the contract termination. This incident marks another instance of contract termination in Hololive’s history, following similar actions taken against other talents for breaches of contract, such as Uruha Rushia and Mano Aloe.
